‘It is beauty I seek, not beautiful things.’ -Plato
My passion is drawing, sketching and painting with watercolour.
The meditative aspect of drawing allows me to fully express the beauty I see before me, be it a tree or a panoramic landscape.
One can be lost in the process and be unaware that a couple of hours have passed.
Some people say such feelings with words and poetry, I say it with my pen and brush as they move across the page.
Eric Hoffer Book Award Category Finalist
The Eric Hoffer Book Award is one of the largest international book awards for small, academic, and independent presses. The award was founded at the start of the 21st century (with permission from the Eric Hoffer Estate) to honour freethinking writers and independent books of exceptional merit, and since its inception, the Hoffer Award has grown to become one of the premiere international independent book awards.
After a rigorous first round of judging, less than 10% of nominees become category finalists. In 2024, Drawn to the Mountain: a kunanyi/Mt Wellington sketchbook, published by Forty South Publishing, was announced as a Category Finalist.
